| Ten Things I'm Thinking Right Now
One, I am so gonna redesign this blog.
Two, I gotta find more friends on Xanga, or I'd just be writing to myself.
Three, I have to try posting pics.
Four, I need a more frequent blogging schedule.
Five, controlling a car on a slope requires the skills of a person who can do ten things at once without breaking a sweat.
Six, Batman Begins is a really good movie, although I still wish I had the chance to watch it in the theaters. Will wait for the DVD.
Seven, I WILL be watching Fantastic Four in the theaters.
Eight, ... what's Eight again?
Nine, I'm praying 11th grade will be finished by the end of November.
Ten, the dark clouds are making me feel gloomy and think about War of the Worlds.
| Yes, I know. I have been horrible in keeping my blog. I cannot believe that more than a month has passed since my last entry! How time flies!
Since a month is a long time, I shall briefly provide the main happenings of last month and a half.
1. MOM back. Yahoo! 2. DAD still not back. Sobsob 3. Had a super YOUTH-MEET-CUM-SURPRISE-BIRTHDAY-PARTY-FOR-YEN-DWIN-AND-ME!!! We had ice-cream cake! And kacang kuda in milk and donuts on a string... 4. Suz, Yen, Jase, Juz, and Jon leave for CI TRAINING. 5. Egb is also away for SPORTS MINISTRY TRAINING. 6. Nette still in the U.S. (Oh, the loneliness! How it grips you sometimes!) 7. Had marvellous, marvellous PRESENTS! Hand-painted T-shirt, Cambodian sling bag, decorated wooden peg to hold notes, notebooks, engraved-with-my-name pen, "wild rose"-scented toiletries and a Sony Ericsson K500i cellphone! Can they get any better? 8. Had a cool COMBINED SURPRISE BIRTHDAY DINNER at Nando's organized by Jase. It was a VERY long table. The other birthday girl was Mabz. 9. Had 2 CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKES for dessert after the Nando's dinner. 10. Finally sat for the 5-HOUR KPP lecture. 11. PASSED the KPP test at a score of 46/50. So relieved! Took a week to study. 12. Did the Pra-L amali yesterday. I can now STEER THE WHEEL (at 2nd gear la...lol)!
You can conclude that the highlights of the month deal mostly with me being a new 17-year-old. Who'd have known that it was to be such a memorable birthday? Certainly not me. Gosh, I thought it was going to be very low key this year. Then wham! I'm surprised many times! Indeed, the first month of my new year burst forth in jubilant song and scintillation. I am so touched by all the love showered by my family and friends. Thank you all benevolent people. You truly are the light of the world.
I had thought that "sweet 16" was the year of growing up. How wrong I was. 16 was but the year of the first step. Now that I'm 17 and 3 weeks old, all the mysteries of last year seem to come together like a puzzle piecing itself.
It is God who has given me the greatest gift because He has blessed me with another year. What's more, it is He who allowed my birthday to be so wonderful.
Joy and peace are in my heart and they shall not be taken away from me. For who can separate me from Christ?
Blessed 17!

| I've decided not to use the Xanga skin. Because I'm offered a free trial of Xanga Premium, I don't know whether I will have the same privilege when I go back to Xanga Classic. Hence, I want to get used to this design first.
It is going to be a busy weekend. On Saturday morning, I have to clean my house and later to show my Aunt Fiona around Melaka when she comes down for certain errands. Then I have to start on all that I have to do for Saturday service - music practice, children church, youth bulletin for next month's youth meeting, and *secret*. Can't disclose yet.
Sunday morning is my church's Family Day outing at Pantai Kundur. I have to find transport and pray that we'll have beautiful weather. When I get home, I have to get ready for my mother's return. Yay!
Labor Day's replacement holiday on Monday seems so appropriate!
| So I haven't had time to put my own background and stuff. I decided to use one of the Xanga skins first. Actually, it's kinda cool. And I'm trying to figure out how to make my own skin. Maybe I make my own one day. That'd be so cool!
Yesterday, I received news that my dad probably can't get to sign of this Sunday because there is no one to relieve him of his command. I'm continuing to pray, anyhow.
It was an even sadder day yesterday when Adelia, one of my favorite cousins, and her family received news that her paternal grandfather passed away in the early hours of the day. Atuk was buried at 1.30pm. It was a dolorous day, one when no one spoke much but everyone was thinking the same thing. Adelia is clearly affected; she looks so tired out and somber today. I hope she'd recover well. What affected me, however, is the knowledge that Atuk's fate is decided: eternal damnation. And I couldn't or didn't do anything to reach out to him, as short and distant our acquaintance may be. I also wondered at the number of Malays out there, dying without any knowledge of the Truth. This thought continues to rankle in my head. Should we let a man-made law hinder our work as followers of Christ?
| 7 days! 7 days! Yahoo!!!
Okay, so you know I miss my parents. Now I'm just thinking about how much work it takes to clean the house. I want to make it as neat as possible so that they come home to a cosy home.
I love this weekend! It seems endless! Tomorrow is school day again. But... I think I don't mind. Coz this year school is so fun! And it takes up to a maximum of 4 hours! Ah, the hours of freedom of doing other things is pure bliss. After slogging for a month in January, I definitely cherish this. I can concentrate more on current and future ministries as well as defining my plan for the next 5 years.
Yea, lots of planning. | | |
